Okay, this blog host is sooooo much better than LiveJournal! I think I just got bored with the other one...I couldn't add all the cool things there that I've added here (like my JBJ video?)! Maybe I'll be more inclined to keep up with this one since I can keep it fresh.
Let's see, what's new?
I've started my new job *finally* and I really do like it! It's limited to a 40-hour week, so I am so lovin' that! I've had one training class so far, and some one-on-one trainings, with another larger training class next week. Seems like I'm making an impact so far...everyone keeps telling me that I'm making their jobs easier. That's a good thing!
I was really sick for about a week, last week. I was *so* miserable! My head and sinuses were so congested, and along with that came the sinus headaches (seemingly the bane of my existence). Now Jeremy has it, and he's been so miserable this week. I don't know if it's worse on him or ME! You all know how helpless our men become when they're sick! Moaning, sniffling, whining! Thank God he's starting to feel better today!
Last weekend, we hosted a baby shower for my friend Julia. She's due in four weeks! I can't believe she's so close already. I can't wait to meet little Alexandra and see her in all those little pink clothes!
I'm trying to get back into the MB a little more. I have been so busy with my job the last few months that I let the MB take the brunt of my absence (oh, and this blog too!). So, I promise, I'll be back soon!

The Blah's
I knew this blog would be too much effort to keep up with! I haven't felt like keeping up with it the past few months. For one, the holiday season tends to be so overwhelmed with stuff you have to do that you don't normally do anyway with no time to do it.
Then, we had all that dang snow, week after week, feet upon feet of it! I'll tell you what, I never really believed all that talk about weather-related depression until now. I literally haven't felt like doing anything since before Christmas. The warmth and sunshine finally just arrived this week, and I was so sick I couldn't enjoy it. Now, we're supposed to get more snow again this weekend.
I just feel blah...I am so ready for summer. Spring usually just means more snow, or at least rain, so warmth and sunshine will still elude me. Let's just get on with the summer already! I need to wear capris and sandals, eat lunch on a patio with the sun beating down on me, while I enjoy a nice cold beer. Ahhhh, I can almost feel it now, if I just close me eyes and concentrate really hard.
I don't think the end of football season helps. The Nuggets and Avalanche aren't giving us much to cheer about these days, and the Rockies just started Spring Training, and they'll probably suck again this year anyway. Nothing to look forward to on the weekends. You'd think I'd use that as motivation to get off my butt and actually do something active. I'm sure it would help with this blah-ness that I'm feeling. It just seems such an unattractive option when it's just cold and windy outside. Could I get any more negative?
Ugh...until next time...

Miss me?
Well, it's been a long two weeks since I posted last! In a way, I'm sorry, but on the other hand, I'm not. I've been so stinking busy, that adding my blog to the works probably would have sent me into a tizzy.
So, long story short, here's what we've been up to:
On Friday, October 27th, my boss asks to speak to me with the door shut...uh,oh! But, it was actually a good meeting. You see, our company rolled out a new project management software in January, and we've all been struggling to use it and make sense of it ever since. We all had formal training on it last December, but you know how it is, if you haven't ever seen something, and you're not using it every day, training is pretty well worthless. It's like teaching someone how to drive a car, when they've never seen a car, let alone know what a car is. Anyway, back to my point...the executives decided that they needed to have a full-time employee working on figuring out the software, finding the bugs and teaching people how to use it properly. Soooooo, my name was thrown into the hat, and they offered me the position on the 27th and needed an answer by the 30th! Fortunately, Jeremy came home from hunting a couple of days early, so we could at least discuss it together before I had to commit to a decision. This position is going to provide me a lot more flexibility and should rarely, if ever, require that I work more than 40 hours a week. What I do now is 50 hours a week minimum. So, revisit my previous post where I was freaking out trying to figure out how we were going to be able to have children and me still making money --- This just fell in my lap, and I am truly excited about it! It is going to be so very different than what I do now, but I really need a change of scenery. For now, the position is going to be full-time while I provide continuing education for the current employees, develop workflow processes, and develop updated training/reference manuals. I'll also be providing new-hire training on a regular basis over at least the next year as we hire new employees. After that, I may be able to add-on other training type responsibilities or maybe even HR type stuff like recruiting, career fairs, and interviews. Or, I may be able to phase myself out, or at least down to a part time position, or work from home (the software is web based and is available from any computer in the world as long as you have a username and password!). I could easily run a Help Desk from home with as little as a land line and a computer. Anywho, I've already executed my first training session last week for employees who hired on since January and didn't get the formal training last December. It was quite successful, and I'm surprised to say that I wasn't nearly as nervous or clueless as I anticipated! I am traveling back to Kansas City in December for more extensive training for myself so that I can continue being a few steps ahead of everyone using the software. Currently, I'm fulfilling both positions, but they are looking for someone to replace me on my project. I'm guessing that by January, no sooner, I'll be moving back to our Denver office and become full-time overhead! WooHoo!
DH and I just returned from A Weekend to Remember, a marriage conference sponsored by Family Life. My in-laws had given us a gift-certificate to attend for Christmas last year. We went once before when we were engaged as my in-laws felt it was an important part of our pre-marriage counseling. Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to it, thinking it would be a waste of time, because Jer and I really do have a pretty solid relationship, if you ask me. But I was truly amazed at the things we learned about each other, ourselves, and our relationship with God this weekend. Isn't it interesting that even though you are so close to someone and *think* you share everything with them, you find that there are things you've kept to yourself, whether or not you meant to? Take for example, something as simple as discussing how your day was! I've realized that even though funny, crazy, or important things happen to me throughout the day, I either forget to tell him, or consider them not important enough to tell him. So if he doesn't know all the things I experienced today, how can he truly relate to me and how I feel? Huge revelation! Trust me, we learned much more important things than that, but I know you understand how personal those things are, so I won't betray him by sharing them here. The biggest realization of all was how far we've allowed ourselves to stray from our relationship with God and try to control our own lives. And it's not that I didn't already know this, but I forget. I always need someone on the outside to constantly remind me that I'm not in control of this forsaken place and my life! My time here is limited, and my purpose is to live a life that portrays Godly characteristics so that others may find Him through me! And our purpose together is to live a Godly marriage so that our children come to know Him through us! It was a great weekend, just the two of us focusing on each other, without the daily pressures of life getting in the way (laundry, cooking, the dog, the phone, etc.). If nothing else, it reminded me how MUCH I truly, truly love Jer. I am so blessed and thankful that God chose him as my soulmate!
